Each client seeking design thinking workshops has something they're hoping the participants will walk away with. I've helped many clients find workflow solutions and develop teammates through bespoke design thinking workshops.

How I created them:

1.

After the client expresses interest, we arrange a meeting where we can discuss candidly what their team's challenges are and what they hope their team will take away from a design thinking workshop. We use this to create a bespoke experience that focuses on developing theses capacities.

2.

After getting all logistics in line and contracts signed, I use our meeting to create a bespoke experience that focuses on developing the capacities they hope to build, whether it be embracing failure or building positive teamwork habits. I create a slide deck and workshop outline, get all our logistics ducks in a row, and order any supplies needed.

3.

The week before the workshop, I sync with teammates who will help facilitate large groups, giving them tools and direction as to how to manage the group. We define a workshop facilitation strategy, define where areas of experimentation are in the workshop structure, and explore any lingering questions.

We arrive an hour before the workshop to set up the space, sync again about the workshop and any facilitation dynamics we need to be aware of, and then we conduct the workshop together.

4.

After the workshop, I send a thank you letter to the client that includes numerous resources for their team.  The facilitation team meets and I lead a discussion about areas for improvement or things to try next workshop. I synthesize these findings to influence points for experimentation in the next workshop.
